1. National Thinkers Challenge
To boost Singapore’s Smart Nation capabilities, the inaugural National Thinkers Challenge (NTC), organised by Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan, hopes to introduce to primary school students the concepts of design thinking, artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies. Participants had to solve real-world problems using design thinking, a process that emphasises constant innovation and improvement, and AI. The theme this year is tackling Singapore’s food waste. 2 teams represented ATS and their achievements are as documented below:

2. Future Problem Solving Program International Competition 2022
Two teams of P6 students continued their CmPS journey which they started in 2021 by accepting an invitation to participate in the Future Problem Solving International Conference where Future Problem Solvers from around the globe come together to celebrate the final round of their competitive season. The FPSPI International Competition occurs each June at a university in the USA. This annual competition draws 2,500+ problem solving champions from all over the world who compete at local and regional levels throughout the school year. The 2 teams of students representing ATS and their achievements are as documented below:

Applied Learning Programme (Innovation & Project Work)
1. SHHK Thinkers Programme
Organised by Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan, this programme aims to develop students’ confidence, analytical and problem-solving competencies and to expose students to areas of STEM and how technology can improve our way of life. Over a span of 8 months, 8 teams of 3 students and teachers undergo training in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), Coding, Design Thinking (DT) and Presentation & Pitching via virtual and physical setting. 2 teams were shortlisted to represent ATS in the Final Showcase. One of the teams was presented with the following award:
