Borrowing & Returning
1. How many books can my child borrow from the School Library?
Your child may borrow up to four books at a time, giving him/her a variety of books to enjoy.
2. How long can my child keep a library book?
Each book may be borrowed for 14 days.
3. What can my child use to borrow books from the School Library?
Your child can use his/her EZ-Link student pass, or a photocopy of it, which also functions as a library card.
4. Can my child renew a library book? How can he/she do so?
Yes. Your child may extend the loan for another 14 days, provided that the book is not overdue. He/she will need to bring both the book and EZ-Link student pass/photocopy for the renewal.
Lost & Damaged Books
5. What should we do if my child loses or accidentally damages a library book?
If a borrowed book is lost or damaged, your child will need to provide a new copy of the same title as a replacement. If the title is no longer available for purchase, a new book of equivalent value may be provided instead. Please note that cash payment is not accepted.
Using the School Library
6. When is the School Library open?
The School Library is open from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a lunch break from 1.00 p.m. to 2.00 p.m.
7. How can my child help to keep the School Library a pleasant place for everyone?
Students can help by speaking softly, handling library materials and facilities with care, and returning books to the shelves after reading. Food and drinks are not permitted in the library.
8. Can my child use the Multimedia Stations in the School Library?
Yes. Students should first seek permission from the librarian. Each session at a Multimedia Station is limited to 30 minutes.
9. Who may use the School Library?
The School Library is for students and staff of Ai Tong School.
10. What should my child do after reading a book in the library?
Your child should return the book to the shelf after reading and handle all library materials with care so that others can continue to enjoy them.
